This report explores how municipalities across Canada are integrating green infrastructure (GI) into asset management to support urban sustainability and climate resilience. Drawing on insights from four leading cities and regions, it highlights progress in managing GI while addressing funding, operational and measurement challenges. The report emphasises GI’s role in advancing regenerative asset management by linking natural and built systems to deliver long-term environmental benefits. Despite ongoing barriers, municipalities are unlocking GI’s potential through innovative approaches, including life-cycle planning, cross-functional collaboration and embedding GI within asset management frameworks.
